Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) is how your business gets named, cited and recommended inside AI answers. Where SEO ranks a link, GEO makes you part of the answer itself — and it’s quickly becoming the most important channel in Australian marketing.
AIRank.au builds the entity clarity, structured content, citations and authority signals that AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI need to recommend you with confidence.
The four pillars of GEO
Entity clarity
We make your business unmistakable to AI — consistent name, location, services and facts, reinforced with structured data (schema) so the information is machine-readable.
Answer-shaped content
We create content that directly answers the questions your buyers ask, in the clear, structured format AI engines prefer to quote and summarise.
Citations & authority
We earn accurate mentions on the trusted sources AI engines read, building the corroboration that turns you into a confident recommendation.
Measurement
We track your recommendation share across every major engine, so GEO becomes a managed campaign with clear wins — not guesswork.
GEO vs traditional SEO
| Traditional SEO | Generative Engine Optimisation |
|---|---|
| Optimises pages for keywords | Optimises your entity and authority |
| Goal: rank a link in a list | Goal: be named inside the AI answer |
| Measured by rankings & traffic | Measured by AI recommendation share |
SEO still matters and underpins good GEO — but GEO is what wins the recommendation at the moment a buyer is deciding. Read more in our guide: GEO explained for Australian businesses.
What’s included in a GEO campaign
- Monthly AI visibility benchmark and competitor tracking.
- Entity, schema and technical optimisation.
- AI-optimised content pages built to be cited.
- Citation and authority building across trusted sources.
- Clear monthly reporting and a strategy call.
Results timeline
How quickly anything moves depends on how often each engine re-crawls and re-evaluates the sources it draws on, which no provider controls. Thirty days is a reasonable point at which to take a second reading, not a promised outcome. We are a new brand and will not quote you movement figures we have not earned. What we do commit to is the work and the reporting: you see the same measurements we do, every month.
GEO packages start at AUD $2,950 per month. See full pricing, or start with a free AI ranking report.
What we change, and why AI engines respond to it
Generative engine optimisation is less mysterious than it sounds. AI engines answer questions by retrieving material they can find, understanding who it is about, and preferring claims that more than one credible source supports. Almost all durable work falls into those three areas.
Entity clarity
Models must be able to tell that your business is a specific, identifiable organisation, distinct from similarly named ones, doing a definable thing in definable places. That means consistent naming, consistent descriptions, structured data that states plainly what you are, and no contradictions between your own pages.
Corroboration
A claim that appears only on your own website is weak evidence. The same claim reflected in directories, industry bodies, publications, profiles and third-party references is far stronger. Much of GEO is the unglamorous work of making the record consistent everywhere it exists.
Retrievable answers
Content written as marketing prose is hard to quote. Content that states a question and then answers it directly, in a self-contained passage with the specifics included, is easy to retrieve and easy to cite. We restructure existing material as much as we write new material.
Freshness and coverage
Engines favour material that looks current and that covers the question rather than glancing at it. Gaps in coverage are usually why a competitor is named and you are not: they have a page about the exact thing that was asked, and you have a page about the general area.
A typical first ninety days
This describes the work, not a forecast of results.
- Weeks 1 to 3. Baseline measurement across all five engines, entity and citation audit, and a prioritised backlog. You approve the priority order.
- Weeks 3 to 8. The corrections that block retrieval come first: entity and structured data fixes, resolving inconsistencies across third-party sources, and restructuring the highest-value existing pages into retrievable form.
- Weeks 8 to 12. Coverage work — building the specific answer pages that your prompt set showed were missing — and the second full measurement round, compared against the baseline.
- Monthly throughout. A measurement report and a strategy call. You see the raw prompt results, not a summarised score with no workings.
How we measure
We report on the same three things every month, so the trend is comparable: your recommendation share across the agreed prompt set, the proportion of the prompt set where you appear at all, and the number and quality of independent sources that corroborate your key claims. Where a number moves, we show which prompts moved and what changed beforehand.
Because AI answers vary between runs, we treat single-run changes as noise and look at the direction over successive rounds. That is slower to produce a satisfying headline and considerably more honest.
What GEO cannot do
- It cannot guarantee a position in an AI answer, for the reasons set out on the audit page.
- It cannot make a weak offer attractive. If buyers who find you do not want what you sell, more visibility surfaces that faster.
- It cannot compensate for having nothing verifiable to corroborate. Where a business genuinely has no external footprint, building one is a longer project than a monthly optimisation package.
- It is not a substitute for traditional search visibility. The two overlap, but they are not the same work.
